My Approach
Today there is a great deal of marketing language surrounding nasal surgery. Terms like scarless rhinoplasty, piezo or ultrasound rhinoplasty, preservation rhinoplasty, liquid rhinoplasty, or closed rhinoplasty are often presented as revolutionary techniques. In reality, these labels mean very little without vision, artistry, skill, and experience behind them. Good surgery is not about hype or jargon. It is about thoughtful planning and precise execution. This beautiful young lady presented with a desire for refinement of her nose but also had a naturally small, under-projected chin. Treating the nose alone would have required over-reduction to create the illusion of balance, which almost always looks unnatural over time. Instead, we addressed the entire profile. She underwent a rhinoplasty to refine shape and proportion along with a chin implant to strengthen projection and support the lower face. The combination of both procedures created harmony that neither could achieve alone. When the chin is properly positioned, the nose does not need to be overdone. The result is softer, more elegant, and far more natural. The goal with every rhinoplasty is for the nose to blend in, not stand out. As the centerpiece of the face, it should complement the surrounding features rather than draw attention to itself. The Healing Process
Recovery after rhinoplasty with chin implant is typically straightforward and much easier than most patients expect. Swelling and mild bruising are most noticeable during the first week. Discomfort is usually minimal and well controlled with basic medication. In most cases, no nasal packing is required, allowing patients to breathe comfortably immediately after surgery. Many patients return to light activities or work within a week. The majority of visible swelling improves within two to three weeks, though subtle swelling, especially in the nasal tip, continues to refine over several months. By three months, the nose looks very natural, with continued definition developing up to one year. Chin implant healing is similarly quick, with early improvement in profile seen right away and final softening over several weeks.
