Face & Neck Lift with Blepharoplasty
My Approach
This beautiful 61 year old presented with progressive facial aging involving the eyes, jawline, neck, and chin. Like many patients, she didn’t want to look different or overcorrected. Her goal was simple: to look refreshed, rested, and natural. Facial aging is a puzzle made up of many small changes rather than one single problem. The eyelids become heavy, the midface descends, the neck softens, and structural support from the chin may be insufficient. Treating just one area rarely produces harmony. True rejuvenation comes from addressing the appropriate components together with restraint and precision. She underwent a face and neck lift to reposition deeper tissues and restore clean jawline and neck definition. Upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty was performed with septal reset and fat preservation to smooth contours without hollowing. A temporal brow lift opened the upper face subtly without creating an over-elevated or surprised look. A chin implant was added to correct a small, under-projected chin and partially soften the labiomental crease. A weak chin is often a developmental trait that accelerates neck aging because there is less skeletal support for the soft tissues. Strengthening this foundation improves the entire profile and allows the neck lift to look more natural and long lasting. A conservative buccal lipectomy refined heaviness in the lower cheeks for better contour and proportion. The result is elegant and natural. She looks like herself, just younger and more vibrant.

The Healing Process
Recovery from combined facial rejuvenation procedures is typically well tolerated. During the first week, swelling and mild bruising are most noticeable, especially around the eyes and neck. Tightness and temporary numbness are normal as the tissues heal. Most patients rest at home during this time and resume light daily activities within several days. By two to three weeks, most visible swelling has improved and makeup can easily conceal any remaining discoloration. Patients usually feel comfortable returning to work and social events. Over the following months, the face continues to soften and settle. Incisions fade, firmness decreases, and the final contours become more refined. While improvement is seen early, the most natural and polished results are appreciated between three and twelve months.
FAQs
The face and eyes age together. Lifting only the neck while leaving heavy eyelids can create imbalance. Combining procedures ensures the entire face looks consistently refreshed and harmonious.
No. Modern techniques focus on repositioning deeper tissues rather than tightening the skin excessively. The goal is a soft, natural look with normal facial expression, not a tight or artificial appearance.
A septal reset repositions eyelid fat rather than removing it. This technique smooths contour irregularities and prevents the hollow, aged look that can occur when too much fat is removed.
The chin provides structural support to the lower face and neck. A small or recessed chin can make the neck look older or less defined. Enhancing projection improves profile balance and often enhances the results of a neck lift.
Most patients take one to two weeks off from work or social activities. Significant swelling improves within a few weeks, while subtle refinement continues for several months.
Healthy patients with generalized facial aging, eyelid heaviness, neck laxity, or chin deficiency who want natural, comprehensive improvement rather than isolated fixes are ideal candidates. A consultation helps create an individualized plan tailored to their anatomy and goals.
